Crank 2 Details Leaked | Mar 26, 2008
TheBadandUgly.com says details have leaked about the sequel to Jason Statham's Crank. The original found Jason's character Chev injected with a poison that required his adrenaline to be flowing in order to survive and track down his killer.
STORY: In spite of having fallen a mile from a helicopter at the end of CRANK, Chev Chelios faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.
Not only that, but the Chinese mobster that steals Chev’s heart has another interesting little twist about him on the casting sheet: Hu Dong: Chinese Male, 100 years old, this aged gangster is the leader of the Triad gang in Southern California. Rejuvenated after getting Chev’s high-powered heart transplanted into his sunken chest, and horny as a 16 year old, he is lured into Doc Miles’ clutches by the seductive Vanilla. We don’t know who or what “Vanilla” is, but it looks like she’s already been cast. More importantly than any of this: Nudity! Pepper: 20s, any ethnicity. This stripper is in the back seat of a patrol car when Chev and Eve steal the car. She’s aroused by Eve’s presence and gives Chev a tip about Johnny Vang’s probable whereabouts. MUST BE OKAY WITH NUDITY

Fan Review - The Bank Job | Mar 04, 2008
The Bank Job tells the story of a group of friends who take the opportunity to rob the vaults of a bank in London. Terry (Statham) is approached by an old friend (Burrows) who claims to know someone in security who has told her that due to a problem with the trains setting the alarms on they wont be on for awhile. He soon persuades his friends to join in with the robbery. What they don’t know though is that Martine’s friends does not work in security. He actually works for the Government and he wants them to retrieve damning photos of a member of the Royal family from Michael X, a troublesome Jamaican revolutionary. The robbery goes ahead but not without its problems but they manage to get away. However, things soon turn nasty when it emerges that a Soho porn king/gangster also has incriminating evidence in the vault and things turn violent as he tries to get it back.
The Good - The script is based on a true story with always makes interesting viewing. It briefly made headlines and then quickly disappeared due to a Government D notice, gagging the press for 30 years. This gives the film an air of mystery about it as we know we are watching things that the Government and police would prefer us not know about and a bit of scandal concerning the Royal family is always a winner and this (apart from Statham) is what I think will mainly appeal to the American audience who always seem interested in things to do with our Monarchy. The characters are fun and well liked. Statham is in a role he seems very comfortable with. It is rather similar to his parts in Lock Stock and Snatch with have a down to earth realism about them. There are also some heart warming scenes between him and his little girls including one where he is dancing with one at a friend’s wedding However we also get to see him in action near the end of the film and although is character is very likeable he still has that manly quality that makes him appealing to both male and female audiences. The other characters are also good. I’ve read reviews that say Saffron Burrows is wooden but I felt she played her part well and is well cast as a former model who gets caught up in a scandal. The film has a fun retro feel taking us back to 1970s London and its T-Rex theme tune will instantly catch you. There are some pretty tense moments mixed in with some pretty good one liners that make the film what it is. It isn’t overly violent or over the top nor is it a comedy but what we do get is well balanced.
The Bad - As much as we love to see Statham’s fight scenes the one is this seemed a little silly as he was fighting someone a lot bigger than him and it as if it was written into the film just because of who he is. There will be those on the other hand who don’t really care who he was fighting, again because of who he is. There was sex scene between Statham and Burrows cut from the film. This wouldn’t have been a problem if it hadn’t been for a scene later on in the film when them having sex is referred to and the audience is meant to assume that it happened after a kiss which we do see.
My View - All in all The Bank job is an enjoyable film which works well on many levels. It is pretty much a mans film but isn’t violent enough to put off women who will be attracted to the story and the scandal as it is based on a true story.

A real-life bank job | Mar 04, 2008
JASON STATHAM was visited on the set of THE BANK JOB, by one of the perpetrators of the real-life heist the movie was based on. The Brit plays the member of a gang who robbed a central London bank in 1971. None of the thieves were ever arrested and the stolen money was never recovered. The British Government also banned the media from reporting on the case - prompting conspiracy theorists to speculate the authorities were hiding something. But Statham's research into the role was made easier, thanks to a mysterious on-set visit. The actor reveals, "We were very lucky. One of the chaps came to the set. We tried to keep his identity undercover. He didn't want to glamorise himself. A lot of people thought he was my dad coming for a set visit. Remarkably he looked a lot like me. "He told us some great stories about the day."

Crank 2 and Transporter 3 Talk | Feb 25, 2008
"They said to me, 'You know, we’ve written Crank II,'" recalled Statham. "And I said, 'There’s no way!' And they literally sent it over. They write very, very quickly and they sent me the script and I was thumbing through it with a box of tissues just laughing and crying, going, 'This is absolutely silly. When do we make it?'"
"It’s hard to talk about this script because you look at The Bank Job, a true story that is full of intrigue, surprise and deceit and Crank is just like from the f*cking stratosphere. It is so out there, it’s so wacky, it’s so unbelievable, but at the same time it’s the Neveldine and Taylor edgy, mad filmmaking that they do so well. It’s fun. It’s entertainment. Some people think it’s sheer horsesh*t but every person that I’ve met has actually said it’s terrific. I’m sure there’s some people that don’t like it. You can’t please everybody but there’s a lot of people that love it and I particularly love it."
Transporter 3 is ready to shoot."It’s pretty much done. So we’ll be on a plane to Paris."Statham had previously criticized Transporter 2 for going a little too cartoony, but he thinks the third will strike a good balance. "I’m not going to say too much about it but it’s in a spot that I’m very happy with if that makes sense. It’s got a bit for everybody in it. I think it’s a decent script."

MAY ACT IN A ROMANTIC COMEDY | Feb 20, 2008
Walking sycamore Jason Statham has grandly announced that he may consider putting aside his hardman action persona for a little while and 'branch' out into the world of romantic comedies. Does the world need a romantic lead with ridiculous hair, an even-more-ridiculous accent and a vastly inflated sense of self-importance? Surely that's Hugh Grant's job? Statham was speaking at the launch of his latest film, a stunning portrayal of the New York art scene in which he plays Andy Warhol with a rare and touching innocence. No, sorry, his latest film is called 'The Bank Job' where he plays a car dealer drawn into a bank robbery, despite his best efforts to resist typecasting. He attended the premiere at the Leicester Square Odeon where he snarled, "We are just waiting for a decent enough script. I'm not just going to do a romantic comedy for the sake of it." Of course you're not, Jason. You're a man of quiet dignity and obvious integrity, a set of values which came across fully in that Kit Kat advert you did a few years back. Now all we need is a sensitive, decent writer to come up with a great idea for a romantic comedy. Calling Guy Ritchie! Entertainment needs you and your fine range of comedic and directing skills.

Slams 'fancy' Hollywood pubs | Feb 15, 2008
Action star Jason Statham has hit out at the nightlife on offer in Hollywood. The Transporter actor said he enjoys living in LA but misses the down-to-earth nature of pubs in his native Britain. He told Front magazine: "You can't have a couple of pints with your old mates down the local pub. It's all f****** fancy wine bars, restaurants, and clubs that close at two and play hip-hop."

Training For Transporter 3 | Feb 05, 2008
British action man JASON STATHAM is in training for a third THE TRANSPORTER film, in a bid to make sure he's fit and injury free when he starts shooting with French director LUC BESSON. The Snatch star admits the two previous car-chase films have taken a lot out of him and he's determined to make sure he's well-prepared for a third and final film. He says, "I'm preparing physically now. I'm on a very strict regime from six o'clock in the morning to mid-day every day. "I've had some injuries and now that they're all healed, I've got to put myself back in fighting position. "It's basically a lot of stretching and conditioning, so, when I do get involved with all the choreography, I can turn up on day four of the action sequences and still have energy."

Jason Would Lose To Ritchie | Feb 05, 2008
Actor JASON STATHAM has shattered his hardman movie image - by confessing he'd lose to director GUY RITCHIE in a karate fight. The British screen star - who has worked with Ritchie on Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Revolver - regularly spars with his filmmaker pal, who dedicates hours of practice time to the martial art. And Statham admits the extra work Ritchie puts in would render him helpless were they to ever fight for real. He says, "Guy puts in more hours than me, so he's got the edge. He's a third dan Shotokan blackbelt. There was a time when we were evenly matched."
The Female Jason Statham | Jan 31, 2008
"Eva Mendes is like the female Jason Statham - she is basically playing the same chick in every film. And while there might be minor character nuances, she always looks pretty much exactly the same. Don't get me wrong, it makes complete sense; she's smoking hot, like really, smoking hot - so why mess with it. To do so would be to slap god in the face, right? Note: that does not mean that I think it to be true of Statham, homeboy needs some hair in my opinion."
